See Mom Run: Side-Splitting Essays from the World’s Most Harried Blogging Moms

November 23, 2009 at 6:43 am
This book by Role Mommy founder, Beth Feldman, is a humorous collection of bloggers’ craziest, how-am-I-going-to-deal-with-this-never-before-happened issue with my child moments! It prepares you for what’s to come and teaches you to never be surprised! You might learn a tip or two, but overall, it calms your fears by showing how these moms face their most “harried” moments and still come out okay! In fact, many of them are the most endearing to remember, at least after the fact. A good travel read and new mom gift!

I meant to read just one essay at a time, so I could savor the book longer. I knew that with contributions from several of my favorite mom-bloggers, I would enjoy the book. I didn’t know I would laugh so hard, identify so much with the authors, or wipe a few tears away as they shared poignant, funny, and–often–meaningful moments from their busy and blessed lives. I write and read a lot of motherhood books, and I’m pretty hard to please. I can honestly say this book is very well-done, and I highly recommend it. It’s got its edgy moments, and more than a bit of sarcasm, but sometimes, on a bad day, you need to know you’re not the only one that wants at least a temporary reprieve from motherhood. Once in a while, you’ve got to bring on the snark to save your sanity!
Seriously, if you like to laugh and enjoy hearing mom stories, buy See Mom Run. You won’t be sorry.

As one who is familar with most of the bloggers who cintributed to this book, and as a fellow blogger of family issues I can whole-heartedly tell you that this book will probably make you laugh as you say to yourself, ” I know exactly what they are talking about!”. That’s why bloggers are so relevant in todays social media world; we have been there and done that and we write about what we know not about what someone tells us.
Get this book for the current mom or mom-to-be; I am sure they will thank you!
